Why this pre-order?

Your pre-orders help us pay for printing the book, which has to be paid for before a single copy is sold.

Above all, they help us cover printing costs before the release, and tell us how many books will already be reserved on the opening night.

Why this price?

We chose the best possible materials to give you the most beautiful book possible: a 22 × 29.7 cm format designed to go everywhere with you, a thick laminated cover and fine coated paper, so that every photograph lives up to what we experienced.

But this quality comes at a cost. We are not even sure this book will make us any money: our only goal is to cover our costs.

About this book

From Paris to Cape Town, 25,000 km by 4x4 with my mother: the book

Twelve years ago, my mother, Charlotte, took me to Kenya in an old Land Cruiser. I discovered Africa, and I’ve had only one idea in mind ever since: going back. Twelve years later, it was my turn to call her and suggest we set off again, for six months, from Paris to Cape Town.

She believed in one of my crazy ideas, and she wasn’t entirely wrong to. We’d never been camping, never driven a 4x4, and our mechanical knowledge came from a handful of videos watched online. I still emptied my bank account to buy my first vehicle: a 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ80.

We left on November 17, 2024. 18 countries, 25,000 km, dozens of mishaps, and above all, encounters that changed everything.

This book was born from all of that. It doesn’t tell the story of the road — it tells the story of the people we met along the way, and the stories behind each photograph. Because behind every image, there’s a moment, a face, a story.

Why make it a book?

YouTube videos already show our day-to-day and our mishaps. The book tells something else: these faces and these emotions, which I wanted to be able to hold in my hands rather than watch scroll by on a screen. It’s also a way to pay tribute to those who welcomed us, and to introduce the artists and associations we met along the way.

How it works

You pre-order one or more copies of the book, on its own or with postcards, the exhibition poster or a print. Payment is secured by Stripe — no card details ever pass through this site.

The more pre-orders, the stronger the project: every copy directly helps fund the printing.
